Course Requirements
- All participants must be 18 years of age or older to complete this level 1 course.
- Completion of all electronic and in person examinations
AssessmentÂ
- 25% | Logbook of coaching practice, covering 6 sessions over a period of 6-8 weeks
- 25% | Practical in person examination of applied coaching practice
- 20% | Multiple choice examination on level 1 modules
- 15% | Video competency examination, learner will identify technical principles and or faults
- 10% | Critical self reflection of personal coaching practice
- 5%Â | Learners evaluation of the course (full marks given for all feedback provided)
Course Description
Part of the
Coaching Development Programme for Ireland (CDPI), this course supports the first step in delivering
and coaching to effectively teach the Olympic weightlifting technical movements and their variants.
The Level 1 is an accredited sport Ireland recognised course, and will provide you with the foundations of coaching practices, the technical aspects of the snatch, clean and jerk, as well as access to the field of play, such as warm up areas during competitions upon successful completion of vetting and safeguarding training.
